The Desert Of Souls

The American landscape photography as a subject matter has been interpreted by fine art photographers since the invention of the media. It remains today and ongoing quest to capture the essence of the hauntingly beautiful desert scenery that is experienced as "The Creation of God".
Ansel Adams refers in his autobiography to the majesty, the power, the grandeur of the places that only a mystical entity could conceive, a divine place that is felt from deep within. Mesmerised with the panoramas of wild beauty lying before our eyes we stop in time engaging ourselves in deep contemplation. It is in the midst of the American landscape we experience the pure essence of photographer Patricia Dinu whose infatuation and absolute devotion to photography conceives artworks of astounding beauty and poetry.
The veined lines of rock formations unhurriedly carved by time remind us that the present moment is eternal, letting our minds dissolve and follow the gently winding paths of nature. The ever changing light embraces the landscapes in solid yet fluid formations, delicate whites against rigid blacks, discarding color to reveal the inner blood lines of the scenery.
To discover the soul of a landscape one must go a step beyond the threshold of 'The Beautiful Landscape' which is merely something pleasant to the eye, instead an inward journey must be embarked to find a spiritual connection to the creator, a state of mind where a true connection to the self and the surroundings is strongly present. Here the viewer will find themselves observing artworks that transcends from the surface layer of the print to a journey inside the soul of the landscape, felt by the creator, the photographer and the observer.
This is what Patricia Dinu has succeeded in creating and now sharing her rewards with the viewer.
